Objetive:

Understand, assess and take action to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change at the local level through urban design and planning.

Methodology:

Planning for climate change is a compendium of tools for implementing climate change mitigation and adaptation actions at local level through urban design and planning.

It is divided into modules that contain different tools. Each module explains the time required for the tools and the procedures to follow.

While the tools are best used in conjunction with the planning framework, each process will be different and may not require all the tools to be used or all phases to be developed in the order described.

Opportunities and limitations:

The planning process is flexible and non-linear and is designed for a wide range of situations and realities.

Numerous examples, questionnaires and support tables for the planning and implementation of actions are provided.

Following all the steps defined in the guide requires great collaboration between agents in the medium to long term.
