Winery and oil mill of the Agricultural Union
Located in the area known as El Rec, to the south of Igualada, the wine cellar and oil mill of the Igualada Agricultural Union is a modernist building designed by architect Cèsar Martinell i Brunet between 1919 and 1921, and built in 1921-22 by the old Union of Winegrowers.
It is comprised of a basement, semi-basement and first floor. The façade, quite sombre, is made of masonry and exposed brick details. It has tripled windows with lobed mullion on the lintels.
The complex was reopened to the public in 2016, following a restoration process that was promoted by the Agro Igualada Cooperative, in cooperation with the Igualada Municipal Council, and carried out by architect Pep Riba.
