About us
At the Arxiu General de la Diputació de Barcelona we are in charge of preserving, describing, conserving, disseminating and making the institution's documentary and bibliographical heritage available to the public, from the first political sessions of the Diputació Provincial de Catalunya to the documents born digitally.
We manage more than thirteen kilometers of paper documents, more than one hundred thousand photographs and thousands of graphic, audiovisual, electronic and sound documents. Arxiu General is responsible for the reserve fund of all the publications of Diputació de Barcelona.
We work distributed in different archive centers of the Barcelona Provincial Council: Can Serra, the Escola Industrial , the Llars Mundet, the Platform of logistic distribution (PDL) and the Maternitat. The public query of the documents makes at the installations of the Maternitat i de l'Escola Industrial.
