The mission. Our raison d’être

Barcelona Provincial Council reinforces the local governments of the province of Barcelona through different cooperation mechanisms, so that they can provide quality services and use their powers, to contribute to a future new normal that is more socially inclusive, more respectful of the environment and that promotes recovery and economic growth in all towns and cities.

The vision. Where do we want to direct our actions over the next three years?

Barcelona Provincial Council wants to promote the sustainability of the network of municipalities and regional councils in the province, integrating the principles and goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the New Urban Agenda in the strategies and public policies of the corporation, in order to guarantee the rights, the security and the opportunities of the region and its citizens now and in the future.

Respect for political pluralism, institutional loyalty and dialogue in decision-making.
Local autonomy and co-responsibility between different government authorities.
Effectiveness, sustainability and efficiency in Barcelona Provincial Council policies for local coordination.
